"I have been a pediatrician with TrueCare for 17 years. I consider it my mission in life to preserve and foster the health of children, especially those who are most vulnerable. That may mean taking extra time to explain the importance of a particular vaccine to a parent, or asking about traumatic childhood experiences of the patients AND the parents. Being fluent in Spanish, I am able to get to know both Spanish and English speaking families very well, because the parents are able to speak in a way that is comfortable to them. Learning about the cultures of my patients has enhanced my practice tremendously, and it enables me to help the 'whole' child in the context of the family, addressing the child’s emotional needs, rather than just the medical ones. I enjoy hiking, and spending time at the beach with my wife, and teenage son and daughter, body surfing, kayaking and paddle boarding."
